Our role as a public charity
We follow all IRS guidelines for 501(c)(3) organizations. Jump for Joy Foundation does not engage in lobbying or political activity. Our focus is on education, awareness, and community programs that promote health and wellness for children and families.
IRS Guidelines for Lobbying Activities
Lobbying refers to attempts to influence legislation at the local, state, or federal level.
- 501(c)(3) organizations are permitted to conduct limited lobbying, provided it remains insubstantial, generally under 5–10% of total activity.
Our Position on Lobbying Activities
Jump for Joy Foundation does not engage in lobbying. We may educate the public about health and wellness issues, provide data on youth obesity trends, and share research-based recommendations, but we do not attempt to influence legislation. Our focus is on prevention through education and awareness, not policy influence.
IRS Guidelines for Political Activities
- 501(c)(3) organizations are prohibited from participating in or intervening in any political campaign.
- Providing public education on policy issues, conducting research, and distributing unbiased reports or studies on issues related to the organization’s mission are generally permissible.
Our Position on Political Activities
Jump for Joy Foundation does not support or oppose any political party, platform, or candidate. We do not make political contributions, endorsements, or statements that could be perceived as political campaigning.
This includes making political contributions, endorsing candidates, or engaging in activities that could be perceived as support or opposition to any political party or candidate.
Our focus remains on our mission to help children grow up healthy, resilient, and strong. We do not engage in any activities that could be interpreted as political campaigning or partisan advocacy.
Our Commitment to Nonpartisanship
We maintain a strict nonpartisan stance in all programs and communications. While we promote education around child wellness and obesity prevention, our information remains objective and focused on health, not politics.
Compliance with IRS Regulations
Jump for Joy Foundation adheres to all IRS regulations under Section 501(c)(3). Internal procedures are in place to monitor activities and ensure compliance. Our commitment is to transparency, accountability, and the responsible use of our tax-exempt status to serve children and families.
