Conflict of Interest Policy
How we prevent conflicts of interest
We protect Jump for Joy Foundation’s integrity by requiring all board members, staff, and contractors to disclose potential conflicts of interest. This ensures transparency, fairness, and accountability in every decision we make.
Updated: November 1, 2025
Disclosure of Conflicts
All directors, officers, and key employees must disclose any personal, financial, or professional interests that could influence their decisions on behalf of Jump for Joy Foundation. Disclosures are required upon joining the organization and updated whenever circumstances change.
Review and Management
The Board of Directors or an appointed committee reviews all conflict disclosures. If a conflict exists, the individual must recuse themselves from any related discussions or votes. The Board may request that the individual step out of meetings where the conflicted matter is discussed.
Documentation
All conflict disclosures and related decisions are recorded in official meeting minutes. Documentation ensures transparency and provides a clear record of how conflicts were identified and resolved.
Annual Disclosure
Directors, officers, and key employees shall provide a written disclosure of any potential conflicts of interest to the Board of Directors at least once per year, if not more when appropriate. This disclosure can take any written form; an email, meeting minutes (or similar) is sufficient. This disclosure shall be updated as necessary to reflect changes in circumstances.
Non-Retaliation
Jump for Joy Foundation prohibits retaliation against anyone who, in good faith, reports a potential conflict or participates in resolving one. All reports are reviewed and addressed promptly.
Acknowledgment
Every director, officer, employee, and contractor receives this policy and must acknowledge their understanding and agreement to comply. Failure to follow the policy may result in disciplinary action or removal from their role.
Through these safeguards, Jump for Joy Foundation maintains integrity, transparency, and trust across all programs, partnerships, and operations.
